TI, Advantech and eInfochips jointly launch HLS protocol stack
Publish time:2023-03-07     Reads:

Texas Instruments (TI), Advantech and eInfochips have jointly announced the launch of HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) protocol stack for high-performance video streaming application server deployment. The solution not only supports inbound and outbound transcoding, but also supports multiple file packing formats, screen resolutions and frame rates. It was developed by eInfochips based on Advantech's DSPC-8681 PCIe card and uses four TI KeyStone based TMS320C6678 multi-core digital signal processors (DSPs).

Features of the HLS streaming solution include:

- Inbound and outbound multimedia streaming codes;

- Multimedia streaming rate capabilities;

- Support for a wide range of common packaging formats;

- Support for multiple device resolutions and frame rates;

- Configurable profiles, IP network parameters and bit rates.

Advantech is accelerating the development of video platforms with our innovative DSP solutions based on TI's multi-core processors, providing unparalleled processing capabilities to support advanced video codecs," said David Lin, senior director of DSP and video solutions at Advantech. The eInfochips HLS implementation optimized for video transcoding functions on Advantech DSP PCIe cards provides highly scalable and adaptive video streaming solutions for various display devices with different resolutions. We believe that the collaboration between eInfochips, TI and Advantech will set a new standard for video processing innovation and performance."

Ajatshatru Dhaval, director of sales at eInfochips, said, "We are excited to work with Advantech and TI. Not only have we developed this HLS stack, but we can also easily adapt and optimize it to fit specific customer needs. We have a highly robust IP/framework portfolio that fully meets the needs of multimedia deployments and are excited to take a leap forward with this solution. This demonstration demonstrates our expertise and experience in cutting-edge multimedia and communications technologies to help our customers stay at the forefront of the market."

TI multi-core processor business manager Ramesh Kumar said: "As the use of video on a variety of end devices continues to grow exponentially, this high-performance HLS solution will be ideal for expanding video delivery capabilities. We look forward to working with eInfochips and Advantech to provide device manufacturers with everything they need to quickly develop highly differentiated, low-cost applications that fully meet the needs of a variety of high-performance markets."
